The Szlachetna Paczka is a nationwide social project with the goal of providing material and emotional support to families and individuals facing challenging circumstances. The project seeks to empower families towards self-reliance by offering the right assistance through volunteers from across Poland.

We are delighted to participate in #szlachetnapaczka once again, and together we can make Christmas special for Mrs. Ilona and her daughter, Maja. The daily life of the family is remarkable, as Mrs. Ilona (35 years old), despite battling multiple sclerosis and laryngeal cancer, lovingly raises Maja (9 years old). Their moments together, though challenging, are filled with joy.

The three key needs of the family are:

• Washing machine: The current malfunctioning washing machine makes laundry a burdensome task. A new washing machine would be a significant convenience for Mrs. Ilona.
• Sustainable food
• Clothing and shoes: Insufficient funds for warm clothing increase the risk of illness, particularly for Maja, who frequently falls ill.

Other material needs include:

• electric tricycle: This would greatly benefit Mrs. Ilona, given her illness, which significantly limits her mobility. The tricycle would enable her to reach the nearest shop for essential purchases.
• mop
• vacuum cleaner
• frying pan
• bed linen
• school supplies
• cleaning products

UPDATE

During the charity event, we managed to raise 15,000 PLN, allowing us to fulfill all the needs of the family and even purchase some additional items to make the Christmas even more magical. As a summary, the family’s reaction upon seeing the results of the fundraiser speaks volumes:

Mrs. Ilona’s family was overjoyed when they saw us at their doorstep with such a multitude of gifts. As we unwrapped the packages, Mrs. Ilona continuously showed everything to her daughter Majka, unable to believe the abundance. She cried when she saw that there were so many things for her little girl in the packages. When she learned that there was also a dream tricycle, her eyes expressed gratitude. Due to its size, the tricycle was placed outside, but the woman was eager to see it. With the help of volunteers, she went outside to see her gift. Mrs. Ilona’s tears of happiness and joy were so genuine that every volunteer also had tears in their eyes. Mrs. Ilona and Majka expressed joy even over food items. Everything was useful and necessary for them. Majka, like any child, was delighted with every item, especially with the clothing and school accessories. Their joy was immense.
